A senior equine practitioner, Nanna Luthersson qualified from the Royal Danish Veterinary School in 1992. She has been working in different equine practices in Denmark and joined Hestedoktoren as a partner in 2007.

Her main interests are gastrointestinal problems, endocrinological problems, laminitis, and nutrition. She has also been involved in educational programs and courses in equine nutrition, equine endocrinological diseases, GI problems, and laminitis over the past 15 years. Luthersson has engaged in research projects concerning equine gastric ulceration and laminitis, as well. In addition, she is the author of several textbooks in equine nutrition and has also performed specialist advisor tasks in the equine feed industry.

Luthersson is Icelandic and came to Denmark to study veterinary medicine. She grew up with Icelandic horses but today she is breeding and riding Danish warmblood horses. That said, her interest in the Icelandic horse is still great, and she has been doing research in Iceland. Recently, she has been studying how the environment influences gastric ulcers in horses living outside without human management.
